I didn’t know how registrations and road tax work in England or how to get finance. And I wasn’t in the mood to drive through half the country to collect a car. Luckily, someone recommended Palmdale to me, and I did not have to worry about any of these things.
Initially, I was thinking about getting an old, cheap car. Yet, the Palmdale team convinced me to go for a newer model, and I’m glad I heeded their advice. The car they found for us is just perfect. My wife and I love it, even though neither of us is a car person. And the whole process was so easy!

I’m an Australian living in Paris and was after a car that I could take back to Australia with me at the end of my posting. I had decided on a RHD BMW M5 and started exploring the UK used car market. I soon realised that I didn’t have the time or knowledge to do this properly whilst also minimising any risk. I did my research and reached out to Palmdale for help.
I was fortunate to be looked after by James Brodnicki. I’m quite fussy and was after a clean and well maintained car. James provided me with a shortlist in a couple of days based on my spec and other preferences. One car stood out in particular and after having the team inspect it for me, the deal was done and the car was mine the following week. I had planned on picking up the car personally initially but was too busy at work and the logistics were difficult. Not a problem for Palmdale with James picking up the car from the dealer and delivering it to my doorstep in central Paris on the weekend; all at a price cheaper than I would have cost me to pick it up. The car was as described and I’m very pleased with the purchase.
Palmdale’s after sales service was also exceptional and much needed. The French bureaucratic process to register the car in France has been long and frustrating and I wouldn’t have been able to resister the car here without their post-sale assistance. Their relationship with the BMW dealer and help to source all the hard to obtain esoteric paperwork (including a sale transfer form in French!) required by the French authorities was invaluable.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, and my experience with Palmdale has been very positive.

They listen to your wishes and requests and then they will find the perfect car for you. As most of the people do it, I went online to check various 2nd hand car-selling websites. The used car market in the UK market seemed quite well developed which is a good thing from a consumer point of view, but at the same time I got confused where to go, who to find – honestly who to TRUST to buy a car from. Let’s admit it; in the end of the day, we are not car specialists, we really do not understand how this market works, what is a good car vs. a bad one, which one holds good resale value etc. most often we just focus and sweat about the small stuff. Sometimes we don’t even know what kind of car we want! And on top we all have heard terrible little stories about car dealers ripping you off by hiding a service or mileage history and selling you a car with defects. Yes, I am quite a cynic when it comes to things like this.
I am doing marketing as a profession, and I know most of the testimonials like these on websites are fake, cheaply done by an website managing agency or by the small business owner themselves. So I was full of suspicion and had millions of questions when I first talked to palmdale trying to understand how this works, whether hiring them will add any value to my search and purchase. I was surprised they were very friendly but extremely professional in answering all my questions – but not in a very strict formal way; they were more like a good friend, who I can truly rely on. we started to talk about the car maker and model I have chosen; whether it suits my needs, what other models are out there to be considered.
I am driving my new BMW for the last 3 weeks, and I am truly happy with it. Palmdale helped us buy a car recently when we returned to London from being abroad for 3 years. Trying to buy a car when you don’t have one to go searching in would be quite difficult, so we were delighted to be recommended by a business colleague to use Palmdale. First, they were very useful in helping us decide which car we should get based on their vast knowledge and experience of the market (we settled on a Ford C-Max in the end) – we’d not bought a car since 2000, so we were very out of date with our car knowledge. After 8 years away from the UK I found myself struggling to try manage the process of settling in the family in and starting a new job. I needed a car quickly, had little idea where to start and very little time available to make a purchase. When I read about Palmdale in Which? and thought that they might be an option and from the first time I called them I was impressed. They were helpful and friendly. They gave me advice and suggestions which were never pushy or a sales pitch, just honest sensible professional views on what might be the best options and how the process worked.

However, when we did contact Palmdale, they were very clear about how they wanted to work with us and that they would get us the car that would serve our purpose. Unlike other big warehousing car dealers (that’s what I like to call them), Palmdale were more focused on getting a car of quality, which had a smooth driving experience and had all the necessary service history.
What we got in the end was much more than that. Even though our car had been driven for around 35,000 miles (a BMW 3 series PHEV), it was brilliantly “new” like. The seats were as good as new, unlike other cars which have done 35k+ miles, the brake pads/tyres didn’t require changing any time soon, the interior of the car was glossy and the overall experience of driving the car was just brilliant.
And they did this all during peak covid in the UK when it was not possible to test drive the car before purchasing it !! On top of that, they contacted a dealer in the north of the UK (shows the reach of their network) when we were based in Weybridge in Surrey.
One would think that once the car has been sold, that would be the end of it. But that was hardly the case with Palmdale. They reminded me every time when a due date would approach (MOT/Vehicle Tax/Service) and then follow up again just to ensure that I didn’t miss the email reminders. On top of that, they would always share tips on any help that I would need during the ownership period.
Their professionalism was so brilliant that when we decided to leave the UK, we approached them to help us in selling the car and that experience was again seamless. they made sure that we were able to keep the car almost till the very end before they took it for estimating its value and finally gave us a price which didn’t need any negotiations.
Overall, I would recommend Palmdale for the personal touch that they bring to this role and make sure that the entire experience of buying/selling the car is pleasant and without any hassles.

My situation was that I had just arrived in the country after never having lived here before and I needed to buy a couple of cars.
Palmdale gave great advice about what types of cars we would need based on lifestyle factors, budget etc. Then further discussions allowed me to narrow the focus down to specific makes and models. I know a bit about cars but not heaps so this advice was very helpful and it was always delivered in a very thorough manner. There was never the sense that they were trying to rush me to make a decision.
They then found a range of the specific makes and models that I wanted. This allowed me to make a choice based on a host of variables like mileage, colour, age, price etc. In the end one of the cars was in Scotland and the other was in the Midlands somewhere whereas I am living in Surrey. Palmdale took care of all the negotiations with the dealers. Naturally Palmdale provide their service for a fee but there is a good chance that I would have ended up paying too much for the cars because I don’t know the market very well. They also seem to be able to access cars from all over the country which I don’t think I would be able to do if I was looking on my own.
The cars were delivered to me and the key features were explained. Palmdale have also been on hand to discuss any questions or issues I have had about the cars post purchase. Overall, Palmdale provide a very useful service and they provide that service in an excellent manner. I would thoroughly recommend them to anybody buying a car.

So I connected with Palmdale and they called me immediately in Canada, we completed a profile of what I wanted after a discussion of the many options that might fit, and we came down to a short list. I had an idea of what was available but Palmdale did a much more extensive search. I had about a month to complete the process and I have to say from the first moment I had a strong feeling of trust and confidence as they know their stuff. So we found the car a S4 Avant, actually the same colour as my Canadian vehicle.

Palmdale literally takes every hassle out of finding the perfect car. Not only do they handle the obvious hassles (locating the car, negotiating price, retrieving the car, etc.), but they also handle issues that I did not even know would arise (parking permits, servicing, detailing, etc.).
As someone that had just moved to England and was unfamiliar with the ins-and-outs of buying a car here, Palmdale was an invaluable resource and could not have made the process any smoother. They were patient with me as we worked to figure out the right car, down to specifics including year, mileage, trim, color, etc.
Despite not having luck initially, they stuck with the search, finally locating the exact car and making all the arrangements to deliver it straight to our door. The most impressive thing about Palmdale to me is that their services do not simply end once they deliver the car to you – they continue for the entirety of your ownership. Case-in-point, I received an email from Palmdale the other day, nearly a year after purchasing our car, reminding me that the MOT was due (I had completely forgotten), and offering to take care of it for me. Less than 48 hours from receiving the email, the MOT was done and the car was back outside my house (freshly washed!) without me ever having to spend a minute on it.
I personally believe that Palmdale represents tremendous value, particularly for anyone that has a busy schedule and/or simply is not that familiar with the car buying and ownership processes in England. They have taken all of the guesswork and hassle out of the car purchase and ownership processes, and I strongly recommend using them to anyone looking to buy a car – new or used, basic model or one-of-a-kind.

I recently moved from India to the UK for work purposes. I have always been a big Lexus fan from my previous time in Australia (in particular the GS300 model) but such cars are not available in India so with a move to the UK, I had a very specific requirement so I could get back behind the wheel. I found Palmdale on the internet and I am glad that I did.
I gave them my specific requirements – light interior and a Premier model and near new and to their credit after a lot of effort they located 2 models for a difficult choice.The ease of viewing the shortlist was great – it was easy to compare all the relevant features and not having to contact and deal with the car dealers was a boon.
The car was sourced a long way from home and they organised the pick up, delivery and road tax with the car being delivered on time and as promised.
A very professional, organised and efficient service. If you are time poor or just want the process done professionally, certainly my preferred way to buy a car. Give them a try – I doubt you will be disappointed.

I decided to purchase a car, whilst still living in Hong Kong. The whole process was a dream!
A shortlist of three suitable cars were provided, all below my budget (but less mileage, newer and with all the requirements I wanted). All I had to do then was pick one. The big bonus was they then arranged for the car to be driven to Heathrow for my arrival!!! All the paperwork done, insurance organised and all I had to do was drive away!

As a new immigrant to the UK, relocating from Canada, it was amazingly helpful to have the hassle of negotiating a car purchase removed from our hands. Relocating our entire family for a work relocation along with all of the planning and other items involved is very tedious and time consuming. Moving country is never easy or stress free however when Palmdale was recommended to us by a friend we decided to give them a chance and see if getting a car could be done easily and efficiently from 8500 miles away.
I am delighted that we did contact Palmdale as from the very first e-mail we were looked after very well. Our initial choices of vehicles were discussed and so was our budget and recommendations made. We decided on a vehicle and set Palmdale loose to source one. Not only did they come in under budget but they came in at approx. 15% under budget. So, not only did Palmdale save us money but they handled everything to do with getting the car to the airport to meet us off the plane, the car was cleaned, inspected, taxed and any little defects made right in time to meet us and after an 18 hour flight we were met by a cheerful Palmdale driver (at 08:00 on a Saturday morning). To say that we were overjoyed with the ease of purchasing the car and the professional way that we were looked after would be an understatement.
The proof, as they say, is in the pudding and I will have no hesitation in approaching Palmdale when I buy my second car. I would recommend Palmdale to anyone who wants an easy car sourcing service that saves money, time, and effort.
